Fixed Orthodontic Appliances (Braces)

Orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances is a proven and effective method of correcting the position of teeth and bite in children, teenagers, and adults.
At NOWA Clinic, we offer modern orthodontic solutions, including advanced systems like Damon Q and Biomim, as well as other trusted options — always selected individually to suit the patient’s needs, budget, and clinical situation.

What is a fixed orthodontic appliance?

It’s a non-removable system composed of brackets (attached to the teeth), archwires, and various auxiliary elements that gradually guide the teeth into their ideal positions.
The appliance is worn continuously throughout the entire treatment period — typically between 12 to 24 months — followed by a retention phase to maintain the results.

What systems do we use?

✔️ Damon Q
A modern self-ligating bracket system that doesn’t require traditional elastic ties (ligatures). This offers several advantages:

  • gentler tooth movement with less friction and discomfort,
  • shorter overall treatment time in many cases,
  • fewer adjustment visits,
  • easier oral hygiene maintenance during treatment.

Damon Q is available in both metal and more discreet aesthetic (clear) versions.

✔️ Biomim
A biologically inspired system designed to follow the natural physiology and biomechanics of the jaw and bite. Its advantages include:

  • excellent effectiveness in complex orthodontic cases,
  • increased comfort thanks to low-profile brackets,
  • high precision and individual tooth movement control,
  • flexibility in combining with different archwire protocols.

What does the treatment process look like?

  1. Orthodontic consultation – includes examination, X-rays, and 3D scans or impressions.
  2. Treatment plan – customized proposal based on the diagnosis and patient goals.
  3. Appliance placement – the braces are carefully bonded to the teeth (takes around 60–90 minutes).
  4. Regular check-ups – every 4–6 weeks to adjust the appliance and monitor progress.
  5. Removal and retention – after active treatment, a retainer (removable or fixed) is provided to maintain results.

Who is eligible for fixed braces?

  • Children from around age 10–12 (after eruption of permanent teeth),
  • Teenagers with bite problems, crowding, or gaps,
  • Adults of any age who wish to improve the function and appearance of their smile.

It’s never too late to straighten your teeth!
