Sealing of canals of a milk tooth

The presence of all milk teeth is an important condition for the formation of a correct bite, but unlike permanent teeth, they are more sensitive to external aggressive influences, and caries progresses much faster on them. It is very important not to miss the first signs of caries in a child, which can be guaranteed only with regular examinations by a doctor, and filling children’s teeth in Dnipro is an opportunity to save milk teeth until they change.

Do you need to fill milk teeth?

It must be done in a timely manner. This is necessary in order to:

  • To prevent their complete destruction. Despite the fact that milk teeth are temporary, their importance is very great, because they participate in the formation of a correct bite and the development of the jaws. It is very important that they are removed naturally: over time, the root dissolves, the tooth becomes wobbly and falls out. Due to the premature removal of milk teeth, there may be disturbances in the growth of permanent teeth.
  • Protect the rudiments of permanent teeth from caries. When the milk teeth and their roots are affected by caries, there is a high probability that the infection will spread to the permanent teeth that are just erupting.
  • Eliminate psychological discomfort in the baby. Dark spots on the teeth do not look aesthetically pleasing, and so that they do not become the cause of complexes, caries must be treated, and in our clinic it can be done quickly and painlessly.

Sensitive children’s teeth can be destroyed in just a few months. The reason for this is weak tooth enamel with a large number of pores that open access to pathogenic bacteria. That is why we recommend a dental check-up every 3-4 months.

Caries symptoms are different for different stages:

  1. Initial. White spots are registered on the tooth enamel, which turn yellow over time, and the surface of the affected area becomes rough. During this period, there is no pain, but the tooth may react to too cold or hot food. In this case, the integrity of the teeth is restored without filling.
  2. Average. A cavity is formed in the area of damage, in which food residues accumulate. To prevent further destruction of the tooth, the doctor forms a cavity and installs a filling.
  3. Deep. In this case, not only enamel, but also dentin is subject to destruction. Fillings are used for treatment, and in some cases the tooth has to be removed.

Diagnosis is performed using an examination, intraoral camera or X-ray. In the initial stages, you can use a special preparation that, after being applied to the surface of the teeth in places of enamel damage, turns blue.

Filling of milk teeth of children

In the treatment of caries, which is in the stain stage, filling is not performed. In this case, the surface caries is removed, after which the area is treated with a special preparation for remineralization of tooth enamel. This allows you to protect the tooth from further destruction.

Filling of milk teeth is performed if a cavity has formed in the tooth due to caries. Tissues affected by caries are removed, after which the canals are sealed and the shape of the tooth is restored with the help of composite materials.

Filling of canals of milk teeth is performed after assessing the feasibility of such treatment, and the decision is made on the basis of the following data:

  • Degree of destruction of the tooth. With significant damage, it is not always possible to restore the tooth, so in some cases the doctor recommends removing it.
  • How soon will a permanent tooth erupt in the place of the damaged tooth. If this happens in the near future, treatment of a milk tooth is considered inappropriate. For this, a panoramic picture of the maxillofacial system is taken.

A temporary filling for a milk tooth is the first stage of treatment of a tooth with pulpitis. Its installation allows you to solve two tasks:

  • diagnosis – a seal is installed in order to identify problems with the nerve, after which the method of treatment is determined;
  • treatment of pulpitis – a medicine is inserted into the cavity, and in a few days the doctor continues the treatment.

Filling of front milk teeth is not only a concern for the health of the maxillofacial system as a whole, but also aesthetics, an opportunity for the child to always remain confident in himself. If the tooth is slightly damaged, a photopolymer seal is installed, the color and transparency of which will not differ from the characteristics of natural enamel. In case of severe damage, for example, a chip, the installation of a crown may be recommended.

Filling of permanent teeth in children is performed in the same way as in the treatment of teeth in adults.

Dental treatment for children in a dream: what is the difference between anesthesia and sedation

Thanks to sedation, dental treatment in our clinic, regardless of the complexity and content, always takes place without discomfort and pain for the child. What is the difference between sedation and anesthesia? Everything is simple. Sedation is putting the patient into a state of medical sleep, psychological relaxation. Unlike sedation, anesthesia has more contraindications and side effects. After carrying out the latter, a person has impaired coordination of movements, dizziness, and in some cases excitement. After sedation, there are no such violations.
